Carley thought the menu was the most interesting thing in the world, or at least, that's how it seemed, the way she was looking at it, lips pursed, eyebrows raised. Bleeding Hearts was her favorite restaurant, as the boy sitting across from her knew, so she already decided what to order at least five minutes in to looking at the menu, but she was still looking at it, not even bothering to glance up at him.
Fine. Pick me up at 7. Those were the only words she had said to him after at least four days of the silent treatment after he had fucked her worst enemy at Baum, and that was only because she really wanted to go to Bleeding Hearts, and there was no way she'd pay for it herself, not in a million years. And there was no way she was going to forgive him just yet, in fact, he could do a little more suffering. Carley chose a two piece bandage dress that exposed her midsection but slimmed her down and complimented her figure. Every piece of jewelry she put on were gifts from other boyfriends, and Cormac probably knew that. She always liked to show off her expensive, extravagant gifts to pretty much anyone.
Looking even more flawless as usual would hopefully make him realize what he had done, right? What he was missing out on. Honestly, she wasn't even mad that he had sex with another girl. She didn't ever make it clear that they were going to be exclusive. It was just... He knew how much she hated Nahnie, right? It's not like she pretended to like her like she did with everyone else. It could have been any other girl, except for maybe her other sworn enemies or her best friend, but no. It had to be Nahnie, he had to hook up with her.
"Can I get you something to drink?"
Looking up at the waiter, she smiled at him. "Iced tea, sweetened, please and thank you." Carley couldn't get through this dinner without any tea, to be honest. Taking one moment to look at Cormac, her lips pursed again, she looked at her menu again, not willing to talk to him just yet. Let him say whatever he wanted to say, and then she would decide if she wanted to forgive him.
Which was ridiculous, because she did want to forgive him. There were so many times she had considered texting him or tweeting him or even emailing him back after the snap disappeared from his story. He seemed desperate, which she appreciated. It boosted her clusterfuck of an ego, that was for sure. But she didn't, because Carley had to punish him with the silent treatment, and also she wanted to hold out until he was willing to spend money.
Okay, that was kind of bad, but he totally deserved it, right? Also, she had to see if she was worth spending money on, which apparently she was. Of course she was, she was a total bombshell, at least, that's what she had told herself in the mirror about a thousand times before he came by her room to pick her up.
Wow, this menu sure was interesting.
